Hello to you!

I have wonderful news (if you haven’t yet heard).  Some of you may be familiar with the Irish band my mother, aunts and grandmother played in called The Colleens.  They played in Western New York and the Eastern coast of Canada for 18 years strong and stopped playing when their fiddle player Dan Cormier moved back to his native Cape Breton.

Two of the children of the Colleens, Jan’s son Christopher and Julie’s daughter (me) continued to play music in WNY and this past St. Patrick’s Day, asked the ladies of the Colleens to join them for two shows the week of March 17th.  We all had so much fun, we decided to officially put a band together to play Irish music and more.  We consist of our grandmother Mayna Loveless, her three daughters Jan Young, Cathy Lehman, and Julie Czubinski, Jan’s son Chris Young and I – three generations of family playing music together.  We named ourselves after the road my grandmother grew up on where it all began

- St. Mary’s Road.
